A few months ago, Universal Studios Japan announced the planning of a “Super Nintendo World” zone dedicated to Mario, Luigi and all their friends for 2020. JL Bonnier (CEO Universal Studios Japan) and Mark Woodbury (Vice President Universal Parks & Resorts) have revealed new details about Super Nintendo World.
If you’ve always dreamed of evolving in the universe of Nintendo and Mario, this dream will soon come true with the Super Nintendo World amusement park. This new amusement park will actually be a dedicated area for Nintendo in the Universal Studios Japan amusement park in Osaka. The park should be ready for this summer, just in time to welcome the many tourists who are expected to flock to the region for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
To kick off the festivities, Universal and Nintendo released a joyous promotional clip produced by the producers Galantis and sung by Charli XCX, which you can watch below.
In the video, we see in particular the famous bracelets that will be connected to the Universal Studios Japan mobile application and will be sold separately from entrance tickets. These Power-Up Bands, which are in the colors of different Nintendo characters, will collect coins and stars as in the Super Mario game, giving an authentic uppercut under the famous blocks marked with a question mark. You will have the opportunity to collect stamps by performing certain actions to obtain more coins.
In this area, you will be immersed in a real decor worthy of Super Mario and you will take part in a real competition between visitors to see, in real time, who has got hold of the most virtual pieces.
Challenges will also be offered since you can free the Golden Mushrooms locked up by Bowser Jr using the three keys that you can obtain via the challenges of the attractions.
Super Nintendo World means you can now step into a real-life Mario Kart race! 🏁🚗🎮

After the phenomenal success of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area, Universal Studios is embarking on a new challenge: adapting the universes of successful video games in its parks.
Remember that this universe is likely to be duplicated in other parks around the world, and in particular at Universal Orlando Resort, in constant duel with Walt Disney World Resort.
See you again next time!
