We want you to be happy with your purchase. Please read this Return & Refund Policy carefully before making a purchase, as it explains how we handle returns, exchanges, and refunds for both physical and digital items purchased from www.itsyourjapan.com.

1. Eligibility for Returns

Our return window lasts 14 days from the date your order is delivered. If 14 days have passed since delivery, we unfortunately can’t offer you a refund or exchange, except where required by law.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

  • Unused and in the same condition that you received it
  • In the original packaging
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase or order number

Certain types of goods are exempt from being returned, including:

  • Digital downloads or printable products
  • Gift cards
  • Items marked “final sale” or “non-returnable”
  • Personalized, made-to-order, or custom items

2. Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@itsyourjapan.com
with your order number and clear photos of the issue. We will review your claim and, if approved, offer a replacement or full refund at no additional cost.

3. Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective, damaged, or the wrong product was sent. If you need to exchange it for the same item, email us at info@itsyourjapan.com before returning your product.

4. Return Shipping

To return your product, please contact us first at info@itsyourjapan.com for instructions. Do not send items back without prior confirmation.

Unless the return is due to our error (e.g., defective or incorrect item), you will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs for returning your item.

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping may be deducted from your refund.

5. Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you by email that we have received your item and confirm approval or rejection of your refund.

If approved, your refund will be processed automatically to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Refunds are issued to the same payment method used for the original purchase, whether via Stripe (credit/debit card) or PayPal (including Google Pay / Apple Pay).

If you have not received your refund within 10 business days after approval, please contact your bank or payment provider before reaching out to us again.

6. Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received your refund yet:

  1. Check your bank account again.
  2. Contact your credit card company; it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
  3. Contact your bank. There is often a processing delay before refunds appear.

7. Sale Items

Only regular-priced items may be refunded. Sale or discounted items are final sale unless damaged or defective upon arrival.

8. Blog, Affiliate, and External Purchases

YOUR JAPAN also features editorial blog content and affiliate links to third-party partners such as Booking.com, Viator, and Travelpayouts. We do not handle returns, cancellations, or refunds for purchases made through these third-party sites. Please refer directly to the partner’s own cancellation or refund policy.

9. Legal Compliance

This Return & Refund Policy complies with the Consumer Protection Act of Quebec and Canadian e-commerce standards.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under applicable law.
